About Natalie.

Natalie was born in the rural area of Alexandria Ontario and currently lives in Guelph Ontario. Her love for painting and crafting began at a young age and has continued to grow ever since. From small beginnings, in the craft room of her childhood home, Natalie developed a passion for painting and creating art with her hands.

Natalie graduated from the Art Fundamentals program at Sheridan College and took a small business course at Conestoga College to eventually open up her own business. She started selling crafts in high school at local craft fairs and did window paintings at Christmas time for local businesses. Since moving to Guelph she has continued that tradition. Christmas is a magical time of year for Natalie where she creates keepsake ornaments.

Painting on canvas is always an option, but this artist prefers to work on barn wood, recycled wood and old windows. The texture and rustic nature of recycled wood produces unique results in Natalie’s work, while her art simultaneously brings out the beauty of the material she’s working with. Inspired by Mother Nature as well as Canadian artist and naturalist Robert Bateman, Natalie is most often painting landscapes, birds, flowers, beaches and sunsets. Natalie often paints from photographs and is currently working on an ongoing series with professional photographer Peggy Baker and Aaron Todd.

Natalie is also a skilled cake decorator and baker. As a baker she applies her artistic touch to every cake she decorates. Natalie is constantly participating in events that allow her to show off her creativity, from hosting paint nights to attending craft shows where she sells her work and homemade baked goods. As an artist, Natalie loves that she can bring happiness and beauty to others with her art. For Natalie the best part of being an artist is sharing a bit of herself in every piece!
